Back from Bellevue

The GF and I have returned from our trip out to see Mothergoat and Dr. Cox (Matt and Emily, respectively). Most of their furniture is now moved in - a major accomplishment - and they now have plenty of time to get things done before starting their jobs.

It was great to see each other and hang out again, much like old times, except with much prettier surroundings. :)

Oh, and we did manage to find a wing place just across the street from their apartment. The wings are a different style (the spices are baked in to the skin instead of in sauce form), but they're still awesomely good-eriffic.

It was sad to go, but the major upside is that this was just the beginning of many trips to come. Having good friends in the same state again = Teh Aw3s0m3n3ss. (Thanks again for your hospitality MG and Dr. Cox!)

This week, I have a meeting with the illustrious, fantabulous Lisa (my advisor and visual attention guru) to discuss some articles, I have to get my suit tailored, and I need to learn how to breathe fire and walk on walls. All before flying out to Cape Cod to see my sister get hitched. Awesome.

Warning:
Fire Eating and particularly Fire-Breathing is possibly the most dangerous and potentially injurious art to be found in circus, theatre and street performing. Experimenting without knowledge may be fatal and the first steps should be taken ONLY in the presence of an experienced person who fully understands the dangers.

• Start by practicing with water. Hold a hand about eighteen inches in front of your face and be sure that you can blow a strong spray [not a jet] past your hand.
• Have a wad of cloth in your other hand and practice protecting your mouth at the moment you stop blowing.
• Be sure how little water you need to use to produce a time of spray that is well within your strength.
• When you feel competent, taste the fuel like a wine taster does. It will taste horrible so spit it out.
• Only if you are still sure (!) Take a burning torch and a small amount of fuel and be sure you have full lungs.
• looking up at about 45 degrees, blow the fuel through the flame on the torch. Stop blowing and protect your mouth with the cloth.

You're giving him INSTRUCTIONS? Bad enough he gets these ideas ;)

Perhaps I should e-mail YOUR brother with some new instructions. Although I think the Clash CD was bad enough :P
